Sketches du jour

I know that things look kinda wonkie but it doesn't bother me. I'm  not drawing it to be exactly like it is, I am drawing it just to see if I can get some type of facsimile that looks somewhat like it. I don't try to spend too much time erasing and redoing, I just try to go for it. The coffee cup is very wonkie but the orchid looks ok. Drawing from real life is a skill that must be developed and it is my goal to develop this skill until I feel comfortable with it. I am not there yet but I can see that if I am consistent, I will reach my goal.
Here is one more that I did really fast.

Love your drawings... real life drawing is all about trying to capture lines and shapes and you do it very well Martha and it's like you say the more you practice the easier it becomes. I know because I do a lot of them myself and looking back at my very first drawings I can most definitely see the difference.
Well done! :)

whatever you mean by wonkie, i like it. sometimes i think my drawings seem too stiff (i guess because of my training in architecture) and need a bit of wonkiness.

I'm loving the stylized feel to your sketches. They just have a friendly feel to them, if that makes any sense :-)

Hi Martha! I love both these pieces! I think that the "wonkiness" just adds to the character - LOVE the use of colour! Beautiful! :)

I love this kind of art! It's real...it's honest...it has personality. While I can appreciate the talent (which you have scads of) in a photorealistic piece of art, I have difficulty finding life in such art. But this style draws me...seriously!
