Stained Glass and Butterflies

This is the first in a series of watercolor portraits.  Normally I have used acrylic or even  Shiva oil sticks. But I like painting them with watercolor too.  I use flesh tint gouache for the base tone then add shades from there.  The butterflies are collaged.

I love this very much. The butterflies are the ice of the cake. And the colours in this piece are stunning. I shall return to see more.
