I am inspired today. I was reading a post from Lesley Riley's blog last night and I really was inspired by Janice Lowry. Some of you probably know who she was but I was so inspired by her sweet smile, her fascinating assemblages and all of her JOURNALS that are now in the Smithsonian! Makes me wish I was better at journaling and especially starting long ago as she did. (Not aspiring to be in the Smithsonian I might add, but how cool is that?) Well, there's always today. And actually I do have many art journals and when I think back to some of my happiest art times I always think of when I was assembling those journals and adding a page a day--no matter what it was. And here are just a few in process. The cute red on the left is my good buddy, Lori's. So, I think I will purpose myself to do this one a day thing and even try to make myself write down how I am feeling today. HUMMM...but having that being preserved for all time---not so sure about that. I think I need to write in code or pig-latin. Nope---- pig latin can be cracked. Well, we'll see...

I adore art journals and yours are lovely, you could always write backwards like Divinci or was it Angelo, I always get the two mixed up for some reason. Thanks so much for sharing. Sandi
Your journals are lovely Martha!! I too have aspired to do journals but never allow myself the time to do it! Must change that!! You should go to Janice Lowry's blog now taken over by her husband- it is amazing!!! She is also going to be featured in The winter issue of Where WOmen Create so that will be very special. Her life ended so very quickly but with such amazing grace and peace!! I am off to check out Lesly's post I am sure that it is amazing as always!! Thanks so much for the tip!!
Smiles and Inspiration!!

I love your art journals, Martha! (Oh My Goodness! I laughed right out loud when I read your post today, about pig latin and codes!! You are such a hoot, but I am mortified at the thought of anyone reading my own journals, too!) :D
Love the journals Martha! I am terrible about keeping journals and always wish that I would take the time to do it. I would like to leave a special one for my children to share when I am gone. I went and read about Janice Lowry. What an artist and she seemed like such a special person. I'll bet her family misses her terribly. So sad!! But she did live life to the fullest and left a gift behind her. Thanks for posting this!
i'm inspired today, too.....by both janice (thanks for the link....wow, what a story, what an artist!!) AND by YOU!! your journals are so beautiful, martha, and your artwork will inspire all those who peek inside each one of these treasures!! :))
