Did you know there is a red flower in your hair?

I decided to drop back and paint a Suzi girl with the dreamier half-closed eyes. It's really interesting what I do in this little Walgreens sketch book. The pages will accept just about any medium and it has a bit of tooth that I like. It was one of those things where I started drawing while I was watching Americal Idol last night(which by the way, I am getting a little bored of) and end up with something that I actually like---and it's in the cheapest journal. But it's ok because this journal has a cute collaged cover so it's really not that crummy. I used the copic air sprayer for the background and the lettering is digi-magic (that's me messing around in Photoshop with my letterforms). She was colored with colored pencils then a light coat of acrylic over the face to smooth it out. I am still experimenting with hair---arggg....hair!

I am liking your hair, and I know, it's a pain--in art and in real life. Also, I'm obssessed with A. Idol. I didn't watch it from last night yet. I always tape it--it's so much quicker without the commercials, plus if I don't like the singer--I'll fast forward--they only have 10 seconds to prove themself with me :) Right now, I don't really have a favorite, do you? (Don't get me started about A. Idol :)

You've achieved a lovely vintage look here, with the understated background contrasting with the bolder portrait lines. I think her hair has a beautiful texture that most artists don't bother to portray. This just works.
Well done~

I think you are doing a fine job with your hair, and I love her sassy, dreamy expression. The flower is a nice addition too. Hugs

and I have to agree with you about Idol...the boys did NOT do very well enough to hold our interest either..it was disappointing!
