Stronger

Well, yes, that is probably right. But as I said the strength doesn't come from our own power. It comes as we trust God and He gives us the strength. We have had a difficult two weeks although it looks like Chauncey has caught my cold I am filling him with Emergan-C and Zicam(not sure if that really works)
and anything else I can think of to lessen the effects.

His podcasts are about doing just one thing today to stay sustainable creative. Sometimes, I just can't make myself go to the easel so I usually have one of these letter collages going or working on a big journal page in my grid journal. I love a grid! So at least I can get in my "One thing today" everyday. It's good for my creative soul to do something creative everyday even when I don't feel like it.

Happy Earth Day--one day late

Just wanted to remind anyone who might be new to my blog about my Calligra-FUN class to learn to write like this using brush markers. I have been so encouraged that all of my 136 students have been pleased with the class and had fun!!! They all did such wonderful work and it made me so very happy to see that the students really could achieve great success with this type of letterform after taking the class---and during! I also have an Italic Calligraphy class if you want to learn a classic calligraphy letterform that will get you on the right track for calligraphy.
Lettering with these markers is very addicting and you can doodle and play and write in your journal and it just...makes you happy! It's my therapy!
And...here I am in the pants
I fly by the seat of my pants sometimes when I create art!

More Stitch Flowers

Here are two more stitch flowers. I used a watercolor wash background, cut the flower shapes and pasted them on then stitched around the flowers. This is very fun! These are about 6 x 9. I am getting better at changing out my thread in a flash. That's important!  On the top image I think I will write a little flower quote or something in calligraphy---I did leave some room for it.

Calligra-Fun starts tomorrow!  It will be an ongoing class so anyone can sign up to take the class at any time and view the videos at your leisure as many times as you would like.

Also, if you are taking the class, please know that you can always leave a comment here and ask me things about your progress or you can email me --or you can leave a question or comment within classroom Calligra-Fun ning site. Let me know if I can help you in any way. Thanks!!!

Calligra-FUN Workshop Example

Here is another example of the calligra-FUN lettering you will learn in my workshop that starts July 22nd. You can learn to do this! I take you through all the steps.  Calligraphy is a series of strokes of your pen (marker) and when you practice these strokes it will become second nature. But you do have to practice. But with this lettering--practice is FUN...it's Calligra-FUN!!!
