I was just playing around with some of Pat Dews techniques where she puts things that will make patterns and textures into the wet paint and lets it dry. This is punchanella (lower right) and molding paste over punchanella (top) and waxed paper on the blue and green. I wrote the letterforms in a Neuland type hand with a black calligraphy marker in my practice pad and decided that I would try and use it some how--- so this is how it all came together. I changed the letterforms to off -white and stuck it in! Works for me and made me happy!

Another beautiful one and I love the quote on this one!
Martha, the background is absolutely PERFECT for this quote, I feel like it tells the story of the background you created, vibrant and full of movement and life, like the fabric(love) that never fades! Awesome!!!!!!!

Wax paper?? Isn't it amazing how common household supplies can add such beauty to the paint? This looks wonderful.
Works for me too! How fun!
Got to love those textures :-) I'm doing the same thing playing with texturing re Pat's ideas. You my friend finish well. Love the quote and your choice of lettering and layering. Very cool
I love how this turned out and the colors you used. The quote is a very powerful one.
The white Neuland is striking, especially with the shadow.
Good stuff.
Wonderful stuff, my friend!
Please tell me you have these lovelies hung on all of your walls.
Re the wax paper, I used it in some of the textures displayed in my "Mecca of Becca" post. Quite effective stuff, isn't it?
I just love how you explain what you've done and used in your art Martha. I love the different patterns throughout it.
I sent your blog link to a friend that is an artist but does not have a blog yet. I've been telling her about your lovely artwork and how you explain and give lessons.
I really like this Martha. Thanks for sharing. I am always inspired by your lettering.
