Telling Secrets

This is on 8x8 canvas panel and is the third of the three backgrounds I posted several days ago. I tried a different technique on her by using more Caran d' Ache water soluble crayons for her face. And I painted a bird! I love birds and if you look around blog and etsyland---they are very popular in many paintings. Besides her being just a little bit cross-eyed--she looks pretty good. I enjoyed painting her. Some come easier that others.
Hope to see ya tomorrow! Thanks for visiting.

Good Morning Martha
Next time you visit Saluda, do you want to teach a small class? maybe the poppies? the faces? the way you do your backgrounds on canvas. Our Random Arts crowd would love you!

Hi Martha,
What a great painting, she has such a serene expression and yes, the bird is lovely too.

I think slightly cross-eyed is perfect considering my youngest was severly cross-eyed as a baby. Luckily surgery at age 3 fixed that mostly. When a slight flaw is added when paintings are done I think it gives the painting a genuine look. This is a real person, not just a painting. You seen her in your minds eye and brought her to the canvas for us to meet. Thank You!

I don't think she looks at all cross eyed. To me, her facial expression appears that she is really studying the bird. Great bird, by the way.
