Little Birdie on the Background

Here is the painting on the background. Part of the bird is collaged but I painted more stems and flowers and repainted over the bird. It is 8 x 10. The flowers are heavy body Golden acrylic which gives some dimension. For some reason I'm just kinda ho-hum about this one. Not sure why...but daily art stop's theme today is "birds."
I think the ho hum is that I didn't paint the bird from scratch because if I can paint a face-surely I can paint a bird. I think I feel like I cheated-- but that's just me---I am hard on myself sometimes.

I think it is beautiful. Don't be so hard on yourself. So can't paint birds, I can't paint faces. Big deal! Your artwork is still some of the best out there, collaged birds or not. And just think if you keep painting over birds before you know it, you'll be painting birds. Maybe I oughta paint over faces, huh!! I love this painting, background, flowers, bird and all. Love it!!!

love your backgrounds! i think that's hilarious about having to do redo the windblown "moustache" girl. I've been there. My latest fumble involves making a girl who accidently got 6 fingers. i'm going to leave it!

I keep coming across your name in various people's comments, so finally I got around to checking out your blog. love it all! I invite you to come to our family's art journal - "things with wings".
I'll be checking in with you again soon! Happy art adventures!
