Color Drop Flowers

One thing that I love to do that is easy and mindless are these little "color drop flowers" as I call them. They are really easy and quick and are actually shaped by the tiny black outline. I lay the water in with a pointed oriental brush first in the shape of pedals then I drop the water in. You can use any brush but the oriental brush get a nicer point and spreads out really nicely. It takes a little practice and a little knowledge about using colors and their neighbors on the color wheel (can't think of that color theory word) to have better success with blending the colors. Love to write with my pointed pen also. The paper was cold press so it was rather bumpy for a pointed pen. This is on a 12 x 12 sheet of watercolor paper.

I was looking back at my big journal and when I finished this page I forgot to post it.  At least I think I did, so if you have seen it maybe you will see something new this time on it.

The word that comes to mind for the color drop flowers is "sprightly"! And I love the lettering and color on the page in your big journal.

Love those flowers, can't believe you did that lettering with an oriental brush, I've not got the hang of that kind of fine detailing with mine yet, but perhaps mine are too large to begin with :-)
Great journal pages too,
