Bucky and I went on our walk today with a mission...to try to sketch something really fast. I have always loved fire hydrants I guess because there was a red one in my front yard when I was growing up and I was always so comforted that it was in MY front yard! I actually felt sorry for the houses that were far away from it. Those were the olden days when we would hear the fire siren and Daddy and I would jump in the car and go try to find it. It was usually a fire because there was not a 911 call back then. And this was a very small town so there was not much excitement.
I put the border on this and then said, "oops, maybe I shouldn't have done that," so I posted it without the border also.
Ok, now for the pansies.
I debated about posting them because I didn't like them at all. Why I didn't paint the background green I don't know-- since that was the color of the actual background. Well, we learn by doing things we don't like so we can correct it the next time. I can go back out there and try again, this time without Bucky pulling me saying, "Come on, let's go!"
I am loving Alisa's class.

O yeah, one can really see you are enjoying it. You are making such beautifull sketches...I am still stuck in lesson 1 :-(
Cute! Fun font. You are talented!
I'm really enjoying seeing all your sketches from alisas class. Very inspriational. Love both of these.
Martha your sketches are great, as always! I am also having fun in the class-still sketching from my desk. Hoping to go out and about soon though.
These are such great sketches....have you been drawing for a long time, or have you just started? I'm completely inspired by your blog....and I still am hoping to take your online class - one day.
Love the vibrant colors!!! Great sketches:O)
Martha;
As usual Martha these are fabulous sketches! I like the firehydrant both ways! The pansies are nice too but I think green would look wonderful behind them also. Thanks for sharing your inspirational pieces.
Big hugs and many blessings
Kelly
I like the fire hydrant and with the border. I'm thinking maybe the hydrant reminds me of childhood and playing in the yard in the 50"s when it was a slower time.
I looked at the pansies and my first thought was wow!
You really are making me curious about this class Martha, it sounds like a lot of fun. Great sketches
Lee:)
