It's a scrap....

First of all I want to say hello to everyone and apologize for my absence in responding to all your wonderful comments. I have really been struggling with a condition called Chronic Urticaria which is chronic hives where my eyes, lips and face swells with hives with itches terribly. I have been to 4 doctors and finally my internist has ruled out everything under the sun and I have surrendered many viles of blood to find out what this might be. It cycles about every two weeks or so and ...well...so much for those details. All tests have come back negative (that a good thing) except for one....pet dander.  Unfortunately, do do fear it is Bucky but with chronic hives you never really know the cause. All you can do is take a shot in the dark. I might have to find Bucky a loving home but that would bread our hearts.  Long story short, I have been able to create a little quick art so again I apologize for not returning comments.
So, now to the art du jour.
Each day that comes and goes I never know which way the muse will lead me... and depending on how much my face might be itching. Today I am still in a watercolor mood.  I do think that my first love is watercolor. But I love acrylics too. My very favorite watercolorist is Shirley Trevena. I am mesmerized by her paintings andI have been looking at her DVD again and drooling all over again. This is on a scrap and I was just laying some color down. It's very quick and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  This one was fairly appealing (maybe a 61/2 out of 10) to me so therefore...
l'art de la journée est terminée.

Even your "scraps" are amazing even when you aren't feeling well. Praying for you and the doctors Martha.

Martha I am so sorry....those must make you miserable at times. I was going to say grab a good book and find a peaceful place to read, but that's probably hard if the hives are affecting your eyes. How about listening to books on tape??? Take this time to be still and quiet with the lover of your soul.

I am so so sorry that Bucky might be the cause, that is a double blow for sure. Is there a way they can check to be sure it's Bucky??

Praying healing and peace!!

Much love,
Mary

I am so sorry to hear you are suffering Martha! I broke out in hives after taking ibuprofen, and it was a miserable experience. To be cycling through it again and again without knowing exactly what is causing it, must be beyond frustrating. Praying for a correct diagnosis, and that it isn't related to sweet Bucky.

I'm so very sorry about the hives - I hope the doctors can figure out what it is and quick and speedy treatment is available without having to give up Bucky :( My daughter is severely allergic to cats and we have three- allergy shots have been a Godsend.

This painting is BEAUTIFUL! Thank you for sharing it with us.

I do hope that the cause of your hives is found so you can get help ...also hope that it's not your pet.
I wanted to say that I agree with you about Shirley Trevena - her work is brilliant, I have been a fan of hers for years.

Hello Martha. I am so sorry you are suffering. Thank you for sharing as this may be what my grown daughter is having. We know it to be shingles that never really go away. Very painful and persistant. Love your colors here. Healthy week to you...

I hope you start feeling better soon. The itchiness sounds so aweful. Something that crossed my mind...have you considered that you may be developing an alergy to your art supplies (GOD FORBID? Maybe a particular paint, glue, ink...? Just a thought, but you might want to check it out.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful and inspiration artwork!

Martha, have you considered art materials as a possible source of your condition? Some of the paints have irritants in them that could compound over time to eventually cause allergic reactions. Be very careful of any dusts you raise such as when working with pastels. Also, wash your hands and try to keep them away from your face when you are 'arting'. Best of luck to you! I enjoy your blog and your happy art.

Oh Martha,,,that sounds awful...but we actually are going through the same thing here...
I'm allergic to my dog and wheeze as a result of the pet dander...but my daughter, for the last couple of nights has been hiving out because our dog started sleeping on her bed....hummm....

it's so sad, when a 'too the core PET LOVER' has allergies...it's not fair actually...

love your creative piece...come by and have a coffee with me!

ciao bella!
feel better

Hi Martha..I haven't been around much recently. I am so sorry to read about your hives..that has got to be miserable. I would really wrack my brain and see if maybe you are exposed to something new around your studio. If it was the doggie, it seems that would have surfaced before. Right?
I hope you can find the cause soon and get better.
Lovin' your art as usual. Hope to see more when you are feeling better.
Praying for ya!
hugs, Sue K

I'm so sorry to hear about this Martha--hopefully they can find the cause of the problem and it isn't Bucky--I can totally understand how devastating this could be.
But even through it all, you continue to inspire!!!

Chronic hives, that is so awful. I sure hope you figure out what is causing it and can stop it. It sounds so miserable : (
I hope it's not little Bucky or your paints!
Your "scrap" is luscious.
