Doin' a happy dance right now!

I am gathering up ideas and things for  Lollapalooza Three, "Big Grig Journal"  online class. In this class it is important to find some way to write one big word which will usually be the theme of that page.  I use CalligraFun lettering most of the time but I use stamps too (hopefully the Calligraphy Police won't come get me!). Being a calligrapher I absolutely love all types of hand lettering and one of my favorite styles is Neuland---which brings me back to the stamps. In Lollapalooza Two and Three I have included a video of how to carve this alphabet into stamps to use in our journals. I give you the exempler of letterforms and show you how to carve them.

The thought occurred to me that I could possibly make a font with it--my stamped letters that is.
And through the magic of Fontifier I did it!

It's really quite simple and it only costs $9.
In fact I have several other Fontifier fonts in other calligraphic hands that I have pinned.
It's all installed on my computer and everything---wow. Technology is amazing--!
Yes, I am doing a happy dance!!
Here are two more examples of my new font.

11:00 pm ditty

These are the left over pieces from the rubber stamps I carved the other day. I couldn't let them go unused so they made pretty neat shapes. I quickly cut the heart and then wrote one of my favorite Scriptures. These left over pieces are almost better then the ones I cut---well not better, just different. I will post the carved ones tomorrow.

More backgrounds...love to do backgrounds...

I really do love to put color on paper then add stuff...and more stuff---and sometimes I over-stuff then have to gesso over the over-stuffed stuff.
These are about 9x11 each and I painted them on Arches hot press 140 paper because that was what was right in front of me here at the closet of creation at the house. Tomorrow afternoon I plan to film lesson three. I think I have hit some procrastination-ing because I was planning to have that done today. Well, I will be Scarlet and just think about that tomorrow. Hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day!!

Stamp Cabinet

I am fairly organized I think although I hate it when supplies are stuffed way down somewhere and you don't know what you have and don't use it. My stamps are one of these things. I absolute love stamps and actually I have many more stamps than you see here but I try to put out the stamps that I am using now at my reach. I love the script stamps and use them all the time with my mixed media pieces. I have a bunch of clear stamps that are neatly organized away in a notebook---and with these clear ones-- out of sight--out of mind---so I think I will pull them out and organize them in my new chest. Have a wonderful weekend.
