Day 26 of 30-30 Challenge

This one is quite the hodgepodge but it was fun to paint. I painted it first in watercolor then went back and added acrylic to pop the colors. Then I outlined in ink with a Micron marker. 

This arrangement is just so beautiful I had to paint it. I will try to paint it with oils if it stays fresh enough for me to get back over to the studio. I am still struggling with this upper respiratory thing. Now it has decided to move up to my nose and run like a faucet.

Yes, you read that right, I put Butt Paste on my sore nose. Works like a charm!

Day 22 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days

Looks like I am reverting back to my mixed media style in acrylic. Sometimes it's good to just revisit.
I don't seem to have much get up and go (paint) these last few days.  I am battling some type of chest thing with coughing. But I am not down for the count.

A little Sunflower

I have had paint withdrawal so I had to run and paint a flower. I actually painted this one in acrylic because although the oil paint is so absolutely wonderful--it is a bit of an ordeal for a quick painting. I am not sure if I have the patience for oil paint although I love it. I am done with my 6 week class and enjoyed it so much. I learned a lot and learned that I have a long way to go if I want to learn to paint realistically. The $64,000 question is...do I really want to do that...paint realistically?? Well, I will have to think on that one. I will post my black and white egg on the next post. It is the other value study that I did--by the hardest.

Quick! Run for the Paints!

While Macaulay went to her Bible Study I kept Baby Marc and just when I put him down for a nap I dashed for my paints! I had drawn this out the night before as we were watching TV and knew that when I got the chance I would paint it. So I knew that I had about an hour and a help give or take an hour!---so I painted this yellow pot of Hydrandeas. It looked rather hokey at first but after grunging it up a bit with some script stamps and background stamps---and some swipes of Distress Inks I called it finished. Whew...he was still asleep! Tomorrow I have a some doodle flowers that I worked on also while I was there but I could doodle easier without getting out everything. More tomorrow.
