Ok, back to Tulips... I did it. I painted a third one. This one is 8x10 on an Ampersand Gesso panel. I love painting on these panels. So, here is the thought I had. I wonder if I painted different series of three getting bigger each time with the smallest one (5x7) next being 11x14 then to the largest one. The smallest one would serve as the pattern or thumbnail. I think that has been my hesitation---starting a big canvas without having some idea of where it is going. Ok, maybe I have a plan now.

well maybe more than a tad... :)
I so love these and I also think your plan is great.
I love all your tulip paintings but I particularly love this one. It's fabulous. Love the yummy background
WOW! Martha, all of these paintings are gorgeous! They could be hanging in a gallery! Did I mention WOW!
very very beautiful martha....i also love painting on these panels....
I love the colors you used here, Martha. The shade of blue in the background, and the slightly distressed effect, gives this a very French sort of look.
I'm very attracted to your painterly style combined with collage elements, as well as the bright colors and the way the flopping stems of the tulips direct my eye. After viewing your paintings on this blog, I find myself at odd times being beset by a desire to paint. Your paintings are beauty-full.
Beautiful! I think you have a great plan going on!
Beautifully done, love the grunge feel of it. I'd say you found your method towards painting large!
Love Love Love...so far this is my favorite! I thinkit is hte collage elements in the background coming through that brings it all together for me to love.

That's a good idea to start a small imagethen to work larger.

I'll wait in anticipation to see them....but if not...these are just fine and dandy....when will they be for sale?....any prints? wish, wish, wish....Prints can be made larger too!! these are beautiful....!!!
Perfect! love all the colors and textures!
I am loving these paintings of yours Martha combined with that collage element--wonderful!
needless to say that i am loving all of these paintings....i have to chuckle when you say you think 12x12 is BIG.....i was reading bob burridge's supply list for the "larger" class in feb, and he says to bring 36x36 or larger canvases....lol.... should be interesting....hugs
