This girl was a failed transfer in this little 6x6 journal I have (which I love!) and I almost tore her out but there was something I liked about the look of it. I decided to try to bring her face forward and just leave most of the distressed background.
Note to self: don't tear anything out too quickly--you just never know what the muse will have you do with it later.

Hi Martha, love your girl, the background is neat. Also missed the girl below, she came out beautiful after you finished her.
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! So glad you didn't tear her out. She's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNice recovery! This turned out beautifully the distressed background makes it so unique
ReplyDeleteOh I think the distressed background really looks awesome as she does. Great work!
ReplyDeleteLove her distressed look.
ReplyDeleteYou should never tear pages out of your journal :) At least not to throw them away.
Where I live, we say something like this: In 7 years everything comes of use :)
See, if I got a transfer to look like this, I would be DELIGHTED. I love the look of her- she looks like a beautiful, modern illustration but somehow found on the wall of an ancient castle unearthed. She looks ethereal.
ReplyDeleteI am so curious about how you achieved the look you did! I'd love to know the technique so *I* can try it!! So, to me, it's definitely NOT a failed transfer!
Oh my! She's gorgeous and the background adds such depth and richness. I'm glad you kept her!!
ReplyDeleteso glad you didn't destroy this; she's great.....
ReplyDeleteI love the background.....
Oh, she's so beautiful! I'm so glad you didn't destroy her. She was just waiting for her finishing touches! :)
ReplyDeleteThis girl appears to have an opposite personality of the last one.
ReplyDeleteTransfer Girl appears very self-confident and worldly. I'd say this was a found treasure.
Martha; she's lovely. I really love that you have brought her face forward and left the rest distressed. It looks great!
ReplyDeleteHi Martha,
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sooo glad you didn't rip her out of your book, she's gorgeous!
Hugs,
Anna
This is definitely a lesson in do not destroy or tear out anything you do. She is beautiful and mysterious and has an entire story behind her face you brought forth. So amazing...
