California Poppies--I think

Again, another painting I did from a Daily Painters reference image of an artist that I like. Again, I can't find the name of this artist but I like the chunky style. From now on I am going to make an effort to write down the names of the artist I am inspired by. Mine are slightly different but still I will name the artist I am inspired by if possible. This one really is really more of a smooshy mess since I had trouble with the pallet knife on this one. But all in all it turned out ok.

  9. Martha, you outdid yourself on this. When I painted in oils, I painted very much like you, heavy, thick paint, kind of a VanGogh look. I really like this one. Good job girlfriend.

  11. beautiful! Hey Somerset Studios is looking for paintings done in 'poppy' color - if you are at all interested you could get this published, but you would have to part with it for a long time.

  13. Usually, if you go back to a brush after using a palette knife, it will feel like you have much more control.
Try it and see if this works for you.
    Lovely poppies, Martha!
