Surprise find in the cheap journal
When I am "throwing paint around" and it's time to quit because it's 12:00 am and I know that I have to stop my brain so I can sleep I throw all the leftover paint into a cheap Walgreens sketch pad. These take acrylic paint very nicely because actually the paper is sturdy. I also had some crackle on this one that I was wondering if it would still crackle because it was about all dried up. So I find that sometimes in cleaning up my pallet I make things that are better than the thing I was making. It's that "no think-no pressure" thing again. I am thinking that sometimes it's not what you paint but the colors in the painting that make the painting. It's pretty much all about color anyway. Color is alive. God uses it all the time very successfully!
Yes, color, color, color!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it wonderful what comes when we are not paying attention!!
Great "find" Martha....
ReplyDeleteYes it is all about the color and how it compliments each other. When we play, it is the child that stays inside..:) coming out.
ReplyDeleteKatelen
We probably put too much pressure on ourselves when painting. I love these happy mistakes :o)
ReplyDeleteThose surprises are the best~! They not only are beautiful in appearance but for me, seem to awaken the muse to so many other things.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty surprise...
ReplyDeleteYes! I tend to do my best work when I'm not 'thinking' too much ha! Your colors are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteyou just never know when art is going to happen, uh? love all that color.
ReplyDeletesurprises are good...color is good!
ReplyDeleteThat is so true, that the things you spend the least amount of time can turn out to be utterly magnificent!
ReplyDeleteSo true. I was just marveling recently at all the greens in the the trees on the mountains. What a color palate.
ReplyDeleteLove the crackle, love the whole page actually! Don't you love when something you're not trying so hard on comes out and you're right it usually comes out better then the piece youre trying so hard on.And a big Amen to "God does use colors successfully" look at the sky!
ReplyDeleteYes, "no think, no pressure" isn't that the truth. Anyway, your artistry is innate that's why everything you do is so gorgeous!
ReplyDeletehi Martha!
ReplyDeleteit's the process...and the colours...and the movements.....
then comes the art part of it!
great creation!
