Dream Graffiti on Wood
This is on a 24 x 24 piece of Birch wood. I have always wanted to work larger and this is the largest graffiti-like painting that I have done. It really was fun and it actually took several hours to create the layers. You have to walk away and look and think --or just walk away completely for a while. As you might notice on the top picture I decided to put that great quote by Thoreau since I already had the word,"DREAM". I am thinking that I might put this into an upcoming show in July called "Art-rageous." I think this would classify as artrageous. I am planning to paint another one and I have some crackle paste drying on that one. We'll see how it turns out. You never know until it's finished. And Bucky did his pose for you. He likes his summer hair cut.
Nice big piece Martha. Bucky's pose is perfect...so diginified!
ReplyDeleteMartha, I am amazed at how you can produce such wonderful artwork on a daily basis. Inspiration doesn't come easily to me and if I had to produce something daily, it and I would be a mess! lol
ReplyDeleteI really think you need to frame this second photo, Martha! The work of art is extended to your Bucky Baby and that door...ah! LOVE this. {And I agree with Pat. The fact that you can create the things you do, so beautifully, every day, is astounding to me.}

Wonderful...Bucky knows good art when he sees it, too!
ReplyDeleteSome museums could hire him as curator; he would do a great job, I'm sure.
I love it Martha. And, I know what you mean about wanting to go big. I too have started several large canvas'. There's something very different about big. I think it gives the artist more freedom. Keep at it...it's wonderful!
