A little Springtime in the Winter Blast

Man, it's cold outside but we are warm and toasty inside. We might even get a little snow. Just a slight dusting might shut this city down! So I thought I would bring just a little bit more of springtime from Callaway Gardens. These are Geraniums and.....yep... and I am sure of it! I might not know my Orchids from Irises but I do know Geraniums. I took the picture and added some poster edges and hue and saturation and it makes it look like a painting...then the hard part..sticking it on. :)

  1. are we ever!!! It's so cold here, even in my home. Our furnace just cannot keep up with this drafty ole place. I have an electric heater that follows me from room to room!!!
    Well, I asked for snow didn't I??? :)

This is such a pretty journal page Martha!! Keep warm.

  3. What lovely springtime colors and flowers. I love your pages. It's 3 degrees outside right now. The wind finally died down so that has helped. Have a great day and stay warm.

  6. I like the new update of your blog. It's cheery. Your spring reminder is helpful, too. We've had unseasonable cold for way too long, too. At least in Florida, yours is shorter lived.

  8. So bright and beautiful Martha! It is nice to think spring thoughts in the midst of this cold.

When you said you took a picture of the flowers and pot, did you take the picture of a picture in the garden cataloge or was this a picture you took of the real flowers from last years garden?

It just amazes me how you can take a picture and make it look like a real watercolor painting. Is this something you teach in one of your classes?

  9. Thank you Martha! I needed some reminders of spring to keep me from shriveling up and hibernating! And how great to use a photoshopped pic to collage in. So . . . how did you attach it?
