Sunday Sunflower Ditty

Happy Sunday to all!
It's warmer today here in Jacksonville, FL, hence the Sunflower ditties for todays blog post. It will be a high of 65 which is much better than our freezing temps. Floridians aren't used to that!
The flowers took about 3 minutes and the lettering took about 30 secomds so I guess this was more of a 31/2 minute ditty. Instant gratification---aahhhhhh!!! That probably says a lot about my personality doesn't it??

  1. OK- You've inspired me to start doing some calligraphy again. I plan to start on the many hand made cards I send out. I used to use a nib and ink but it looks like you use paint??

  3. Oh wow, I love these. I am rather partial to sunflowers you know. May I ask, is this done entirely with watercolors? Are the splatters ink or watercolor too? I can't imagine creating something so beautiful in such a short time. It took me all day to paint that Heart and Soul, really. Impressive Martha, and the lettering is Gorgeous.

  4. Martha--I love your blog!!!! I have enjoyed it many times since I saw you over the holidays. I have shared it with my Mother and she is inspired to paint again. She has even signed up for a calligraphy class in March. She still uses the helpfull hints you shared with her years ago. (Soon I'll teach her how to post a comment--she is learning the world of technology at 81!)

I hope you continue the blog---it is so much fun!!! Thank you for sharing.

  5. Oh my, 3.5 minutes and here's a beauty. It would take me about 35 minutes just to think of something to do in less than 10 minutes. Ha!

  6. Hi, Martha!

Just checking in...needed some inspiration and you always seem to share it!

I just finished a calligraphy job for Cambo and Amelia...I did one for you, what a small world!

Would you mind sharing your tools and instruments in your descriptions? Did you use a parallel pen with the "sunflowers" lettering and what about the ink? Were you dipping into a watercolor that you created?

Thank you for sharing! I have you on my favorites list so that I can get to your blog quickly.

    Love you, Lady!
